Biomedical Department
The Biomedical Service plays a critical role in supporting healthcare delivery by ensuring that all medical and health-related equipment within the hospital is fully functional, safe, and properly maintained. The team is responsible for the installation, testing, calibration, maintenance, and repair of a wide range of biomedical equipment, as well as training clinical staff on its proper use. A key responsibility includes ensuring the continuous and safe delivery of medical oxygen, with close attention to both quality and quantity standards. The service also conducts regular performance tests, adheres to preventive maintenance protocols, troubleshoots equipment malfunctions, evaluates service contracts, and procures specialized maintenance services when necessary. In addition to managing biomedical devices, the unit handles broader infrastructure-related tasks, including plumbing, electricity, and firefighting systems. The installation of new equipment is carried out with precision through adjustment, performance testing, and calibration to ensure optimal functionality. Furthermore, the Biomedical Service maintains an up-to-date inventory of all biomedical equipment, develops preventive maintenance schedules, and keeps detailed records of repair histories to support efficient asset management and operational continuity
